Job summary

AVIR Health Group in Texas is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family. The role prepares and cooks high-quality foods for regular and modified diets for residents, guests, and staff, ensuring all food safety standards are met and aligned with state health rules.

The ideal candidate is resident-focused, team-oriented and ready to help build a supportive facility culture. Walk-ins are welcome daily and the position offers competitive pay, daily pay options, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous office experience preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality foods for all regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees. Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards.
