Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare, season and cook meals for residents in a nursing home setting under the Dietary Services Manager.

This Full Time position requires coverage every other weekend. The ideal candidate has a high school degree and at least one year in institutional food service, with compassion for elderly residents and their families.

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in institutionalized food service preferred.
• Must be compassionate and patient with elderly residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for residents, staff and visitors.
• Assist in kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
• Manage snacks and inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
• Learn facility protocols and state rules.
• Show up reliably and presentable in clean, neat clothing.

Under the direct supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, the Dietary Cook will prepare, season and cook food for nursing home residents, staff and visitors.

Full Time plus every other weekend required

Dietary CookQualifications:

• Minimum education: High school degree.


• Experience: prefer a minimum of 1 years’ experience in institutionalized food service.


• Along with physical skills, a cook must be compassionate and patient when working with elderly residents, as well as the residents’ family members.

Dietary Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare the food for the residents


• Assist in cleaning up, kitchen maintenance


• Other job duties include preparing snacks and taking inventory of food and kitchen supplies.


• Cook must learn the protocols and procedures for their facilities, as well as the rules and regulations for the states where they work.


• Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and responsibility.


• Come to work in clean, neat clothing, and consistently present an appropriate appearance.
