Job summary

Avir Vista is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family. This role prepares and cooks high-quality foods for regular and modified diets for residents, guests and employees, ensuring compliance with state health rules and facility standards.

Walk-ins are welcome daily. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and experience in health-care food service, especially in nursing homes, and is team-oriented with culinary skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• Previous office experience is preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience is preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality foods for all regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees. Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards.
