Overview

We are seeking a Diet Clerk at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Shift’s Available: Variable Shift (Days/Nights – Weekends included)

Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours: 8 Hour Shifts

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists patients with menu selections; collects 80% of menus/patient selections in a timely manner.
• Prepares late trays considering presentation, timeliness (within 30 minutes of request), and correct diet.
• Schedules nourishments according to established meal patterns.
• Updates and maintains Kardex/computer system with pertinent information for patient diets and meals.
• Checks tray line for menu and diet accuracy, correcting errors.
• Heads and tallies patient menus or uses a computer system to verify accuracy.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

• AA degree in Food Science/Nutrition preferred.
• One (1) year of healthcare experience working with modified diets preferred.

County Specific requirement: County Specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current.
