Job summary

Serenity Estates in Lincolnshire, IL, seeks a Dietary Aide to assist in preparing and serving meals for patients and staff according to the planned menu and individual diet orders. Responsibilities include safe food handling, serving accurate portions, timely preparation, washing dishes when needed, and performing duties assigned by the Dietary Manager.

A high school diploma is required; food prep experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in skilled nursing/term care facility strongly preferred.
• Food handler’s permit preferred.
• Superior customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to the planned menu and diet orders.
• Maintain proper food handling and safety techniques and serve correct portions.
• Wash dishes and assist in kitchen cleanup as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.

Job description

Position Summary:

Assists in the preparation and/ or service of meals/ food for patients, employees, and special events as instructed by the Dietary Manager. They serve food and snacks according to the planned menu/spreadsheet and the patient’s/resident's food preferences and diet order.

Responsibilities

• Using proper food handling/ safety techniques and is of proper quantity
• Completed on time as scheduled, and is in accordance with the menu & residents’ diet order
• Wash dishes, etc. when necessary or when instructed to do so by the Dietary Manager.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager when necessary
• As this job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, the employee will be expected to perform other essential functions and duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, high school education
• Experience in food prep and service preferred.
• Experiences in food prep and service within a skilled nursing / term care facility strongly preferred
• Food handler’s permit preferred
