Job summary

ERC Pathlight is seeking a PRN Dietary Assistant to support the dietary department with patient menus, meal coordination, and group activities. You will work alongside dietitians to ensure accurate meal plans and nutrition support for patients.

The role involves assisting with meals, snacks, and supervising menu adherence while maintaining documentation and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role.
• Experience in nutrition or mental health settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Distributes and collects patient menus weekly.
• Updates menus and meal plans as directed by dietitians.
• Meet with patients to support menu completion.
• Support meal setups and supervision during meals.
• Document meal support and group activities as required.
• Coordinate with Food Service to meet dietary needs.

What you’ll be doing:

Schedule: PRN/ As Needed

The Dietary Assistant works alongside the dietary department by supporting patients with their dietary needs, completing food‑related projects, providing administrative support to dietitians, supervising patients at meals and snacks, supporting dietitians with running groups and meals, and maintaining menus as directed.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Distributes, collects and corrects patient menus weekly
  • Updates patient menus and meal plans as directed by Clinical Dietitians
• Meet with patients one‑on‑one to support with menu completion as needed
• Completes documentation for meal support or groups as required
• Sets up and supports patient meals, snacks and restaurant outings as needed
• Completes projects as directed by members of the Dietary Team
• Shops for groceries and orders food (will vary by location)
• Supports Clinical Dietitians in preparing for nutrition and cooking groups
• Coordinate with Food Service team to ensure all patients’ dietary needs are met, including monitoring for food allergens
• Collects and analyzes patient data as related to dietary department

Must haves:

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Valid driver’s license is required with safe driving record (required)

Bonus qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Experience working in the mental health and/or nutrition field (preferred)
