Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a part-time Dietetic Assistant to support patient meal service and food production. You will prep, restock, and maintain sanitation, while ensuring quality and portion controls across service areas.

Responsibilities include serving customers, handling complaints professionally, and documenting temperatures. This role requires a Food Handlers card and a high school diploma or equivalent, with county requirements possibly applying.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handlers card or obtained within 30 days of hire through state/local health department or approved program.
• Local County Health Department certification may be required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all work areas for operation, maintain sanitizer strength, and ensure cleanliness throughout shift.
• Set up areas, restock, clean, and organize assigned sections.
• Produce and maintain appetizing, high-quality food and beverages according to recipes and portions.
• Greet customers, take orders, and provide courteous service; resolve complaints professionally.
• Document temperatures on refrigerators and dish machines and report equipment issues promptly.
• Store and label food items and chemicals safely and accurately.

Cleans spills promptly and post appropriate caution signage. Removes trash from service areas promptly.8. Merchandises area through: Clean, uncluttered, attractive and orderly arrangement of work area.9. Ensures that all activities meet sanitation, safety and quality control guidelines set forth by departmental policies.10. Documents refrigerator, dish machine or other equipment temperatures as assigned. Alerts facilities and management of malfunctioning equipment.11.
