Job summary

UK King’s Daughters is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents. You will follow assessments and care plans to ensure individualized meals, stock and sanitize surfaces, and support dietary services to enhance resident comfort and quality of life.

The role involves assembling trays, delivering them within the facility, accommodating meal substitutions, and maintaining equipment in a clean state.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles diet trays for residents according to facility procedures and diet cards.
  • Loads trays onto carts and delivers them throughout the facility.
  • Pushes carts and carries trays to dining areas and resident units as needed.
  • Respects residents’ menu preferences and reports food refusals to supervisors and Charge Nurse.
  • Obtains instructions and makes meal substitutions as directed for residents who refuse meals.
  • Delivers nourishments, food supplements, and snacks to units as scheduled or directed.
  • Maintains food service equipment in clean and proper working condition, reporting issues promptly.
  • Assists with food preparation and operates food preparation equipment according to instructions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for preparing and serving palatable, nourishing, well-balanced diets to meet residents’ daily nutritional and special dietary needs. Follows comprehensive resident assessments and plans of care to ensure individualized meal preparation. Stores, prepares, and serves food according to facility policies and procedures. Cleans and sanitizes equipment and workspaces in compliance with State and Federal regulations. Enhances resident comfort and quality of life through attentive dietary services.

Education Requirement

Experience Requirement

0-2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part‑time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.
