Job summary

Cypress Pointe Health & Wellness is hiring a Dietary Aide/Tray Aide to support meal preparation and service in the health center dining areas. Responsibilities include assembling trays, serving meals, and maintaining dining room cleanliness in coordination with diet orders.

Strong English communication and basic arithmetic are required. Prior nursing home food service experience is preferred but not mandatory; compassionate care for residents is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions.
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health center pantries.
• Sets up tables in dining rooms and breaks them down after meals.
• Transports foods and non-food items to dining areas and pantries.
• Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines.
• Provides snacks and supplements per diet orders.
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines.
• Clears tables during and after meal service.
• Answers questions about menu items.
• Ensures orders match Physician's diet orders.

Dietary Aides/ Tray Aides

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
• Serves meals in the health center pantries
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room(s) and breaks them down after the meals
• Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries
• Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries
• Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries as per regulation
• Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order
• Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensures that orders match Physician's diet orders

Qualifications

• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
