Job description

We are in search of Dietary Aides to join our TEAM here at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow.

As a dietary aide, you will perform designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and are accountable to the Director of Food Hospitality & Nutrition. In the absence of a Dietary Manager, the Dietary Aide is accountable to the Cook.

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate or possess a GED. Previous healthcare dietary service experience is preferred. Must be able to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments. The role involves routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions. Numerical ability is necessary for recipe preparation and measuring cleaning agents and chemicals. Good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for preparing food, serving trays, handling dishes, operating dietary equipment, and cleaning work areas. Flexibility to work during emergencies and willingness to work every other weekend are essential. Patience and tolerance towards staff, residents, and family members are also important qualities.
