Job description

The Marbridge Foundation currently has opportunities for full-time or part-time dietary aides at our 92-bed skilled nursing facility, located in Manchaca, TX (just south of Austin), where we provide nursing support to an extremely unique population of individuals primarily with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This population makes working at the Villa a much different experience than working at any other nursing facility in the greater Austin area – in the U.S. there are only a handful of nursing facilities that cater primarily to a special needs population.

Shift Details
  • Full-Time 32 - Friday-Sunday 6am-2pm with 11am-7:30pm on Mondays
  • PRN employees enjoy the flexibility to work between two different shifts (6:00am-2:00pm and 11:00am-7:00pm)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares food items, such as beverages, salads, and condiments for residents and employee feeding.
  • Assists cooks as requested in the preparation and service of hot and/or cold foods.
  • Maintains standards of safety and sanitation as established by the Department of Food & Nutrition and/or local, state and federal health agencies.
  • Accurately serves all residents' diets as specified by physician’s orders and assures therapeutic menus are followed for each meal service.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Texas Food Handler Certification
  • One year experience or equivalent in institutional food service, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.
  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and handicapped people.
