Company Description

This position is responsible for providing assistance in all food service functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures. This position reports to the Director of Dining Services but may take direction from all pertinent management personnel.

Job Description

• Follow and perform duties in adherence to Senior Lifestyle Corporation Dining Policy and Procedures according to the Dining Services Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures and ensure that foods follow prescribed modified or therapeutic diets, nutrition/hydration requirements, and resident preferences.
• Assist or serve meals as necessary and in a timely manner, ensuring they are palatable, appetizing in appearance, and accurate in content to the resident. This includes resident room service and service to designated dining areas.
• Set up, deliver, and verify the accuracy of meal trays, food carts, and dining areas as instructed. After meals, remove soiled items/equipment and deliver to the dishwashing area. Distribute and collect menus as necessary for each meal period.
• Assist in obtaining proper food supplies for the next meal, help cooks in preparation of menu items, and prepare/deliver snacks and other items as instructed. Assist in inventory control and stocking.
• Follow safety precautions to prevent accidents in food preparation according to safety policies.
• Perform kitchen utility duties such as sweeping, mopping, bussing, washing small wares, cleaning work areas, and removing garbage, ensuring work areas are clean, dry, and hazard-free.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and county health regulations.
• Ensure all dining areas are clean and operate safely.
• Attend required training, in-services, and staff meetings, meeting all department training standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Entry Level (0-3 Years) experience in Food Service or Hospitality
• Serv Safe or equivalent certification from local, county, or state department
• Good verbal communication skills, able to communicate with management, co-workers, and residents, including those with hearing or cognitive impairments
