POSITION SUMMARY
The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the preparation of food and is responsible for serving meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
- Delivers meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents are served proper diets and food preferences promptly.
- Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining areas, including workspaces and floors.
- Washes utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using dishwashers or proper handwashing techniques; ensures equipment functions correctly and records temperatures as required.
- Properly stores, rotates, labels, and discards outdated food in compliance with regulations and policies.
- Collaborates with dietary staff to ensure equipment functions properly and records temperatures, reporting any faults immediately.
- Follows safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
- Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity and confidentiality.
- Prepares the dining room for subsequent meals and ensures supplies are available.
- Assists with storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
- Attends training, in-services, and staff meetings.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must possess a Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
EDUCATION
Some high school education preferred.
