POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assists in the preparation of food and is responsible for serving meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
  2. Delivers meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents are served proper diets and food preferences promptly.
  3. Maintains cleanliness of the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining areas, including workspaces and floors.
  4. Washes utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using dishwashers or proper handwashing techniques; ensures equipment functions correctly and records temperatures as required.
  5. Properly stores, rotates, labels, and discards outdated food in compliance with regulations and policies.
  6. Collaborates with dietary staff to ensure equipment functions properly and records temperatures, reporting any faults immediately.
  7. Follows safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
  8. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity and confidentiality.
  9. Prepares the dining room for subsequent meals and ensures supplies are available.
  10. Assists with storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
  11. Attends training, in-services, and staff meetings.
  12. Performs additional duties as assigned.
