POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist in food preparation and serve meals, snacks, and beverages using proper portion control and sanitation practices.
2. Deliver meals to resident rooms or tables, set up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards, and ensure residents are served proper diets and food preferences promptly.
3. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining area at all times.
4. Clean utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using dishwashers or proper handwashing techniques, and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
5. Store, rotate, prepare, and label food in compliance with guidelines, discarding outdated items.
6. Partner with dietary staff to ensure equipment is functioning properly and record temperatures throughout shifts.
7. Follow safety protocols, including fire safety, infection control, and chemical handling, and report unsafe conditions.
8. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity and confidentiality.
9. Reset dining areas for upcoming meals and ensure supplies are stocked.
10. Assist in storing incoming food and supplies as needed.
11. Attend training sessions, in-services, and staff meetings.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
