Job summary

Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital in New Lenox, IL is seeking a Dietary Aide for a PRN weekend role 11:30am-8pm. You will assist in meal prep, dining room upkeep, and dietary service support.

The position requires a high school diploma (preferred) and at least one year of related experience; ServSafe food safety certification is required by Illinois regulations. This role offers benefits and on-site cafeteria access.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of related experience.
• Food safety is a priority and ServSafe Certificates are required under state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the salad bar, ensure beverages stocked, and keep cafeteria and dining room clean.
• Assist in preparation and delivery of patient meals, room supplies, and operate the dish machine.
• Assist the cook as needed and stock kitchen necessities on each floor as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining room and food prep areas at all times.
• Wash dishes and maintain the dish room in a clean, orderly fashion.

The Dietary Aide is responsible for:

• Preparing the salad bar, maintaining an adequate supply of beverages, and ensuring the cafeteria and dining room remain clean at all times.
• Participating in the preparation and delivery of patient meals, room supplies, and operating the dish machine.
• Assisting the cook as required and stocking kitchen necessities on each floor as required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and food preparation area at all times.
• Wash dishes and maintain the dish room area in a clean and orderly fashion.

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

• Education & Licensure: High school Degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: One year of related experience, with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
• Additional Skill Requirements: Food Safety is a priority and ServSafe Certificates are required under the Food Handlers & Allergen Permits for the State of Illinois.

Compensation
