Formerly Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, SRBHH was opened in 2016 and is regarded as an integral part of the greater Santa Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care. Conveniently located in the North Bay, this hospital consists of 144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds.

Conveniently located in the North Bay, SRBHH serves adolescents and adults. We treat both mental health and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions.

POSITION TITLE

Dietary Aide REPORTS TO: Dietary Manager STARTING PAY: $23.50 PER HOUR DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The purpose of the Dietary Aide position is to help in assembling meals to patients, staff and visitors in a courteous manner with consideration to dietary needs and restrictions. Routine duties include washing and sanitizing dishes and food service areas, assembling food and stocking and labeling food and kitchen supplies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assemble and prepare food and snacks as directed
Organize and deliver prepared food to patient areas
Properly process, store, and prepare food on a tight timeline
Maintain high level of kitchen sanitation related to food preparation, dish room activities and employee’s personal hygiene
Consistent documentation of food labeling, dating and kitchen procedures
Serve behavioral health patients and staff with a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times
Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development
Performs related duties, as requested
Upholds the Organization’s ethics and customer service standards

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
Maintain an excellent attendance record
Comfortable working in a psychiatric hospital environment
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Current Food Safety Handler Card
Able to work day, weekend or evening shifts upon 48-hour notice
Available for on-call shifts
Willing to be flexible in job assignments to meet patient care needs
Work well in a team environment
English proficiency required.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

High School degree or equivalent required
Prefer food service experience in a treatment center, health care or treatment center setting
Must be able to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic
Experience in consistently meeting deadlines; and finish all food preparation at specified serving time; must be flexible in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needs
Must be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers
Knowledge of the hygiene factors involved in food preparation
Must be able to work independently, in a result restricted physical environment for extended periods of time

Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times. This includes information pertaining to care and dietary requirements as well as confidential internal company information and activities
Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds
Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer services interactions

Able to read, write and communicate in English

Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly. Hearing to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than 40db loss @ HZ, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers.
