Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly, minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with patient services second to none. We pride ourselves on a fast-paced, patient-focused, team-oriented environment with professionals in neurology, orthopedics, pain management, chiropractic, gastroenterology, podiatry, and more. Our hospital and clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID-19, and have safety measures in place such as temperature and symptom checks, PPE, and hygiene protocols.

Job Summary:

Our approachable, personable, and proactive Dietary Aide/Prep supports patients and staff through positive customer relations activities. The Dietary Aide/Prep serves, prepares, and delivers food in a high-quality manner for morning, afternoon, or evening meals. They also ensure the kitchen and cafeteria remain stocked and clean to comply with company and HACCP standards. Additionally, this person assists in preparing food items such as vegetables, fruits, meats, etc. Ideal candidates are approachable, organized, respectful, and detail-oriented to exceed staff and patient needs.

Duties:

  • Serve food and cashier during breakfast and lunch services
  • Assist in preparing food trays for patient meals according to diet and allergies
  • Deliver patient food in a friendly manner
  • Store food and supplies properly upon delivery
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of the serving line, salad bar, counters, refrigerator, tables, and chairs
  • Pull and store clean dishes from dishwashing machines
  • Adhere to HACCP standards and health regulations
  • Uphold safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist with catering events and birthday parties as needed
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relations
  • Prepare for next day’s meals and chop/cut food items accordingly
  • Follow menus and cook’s instructions for patient diets
  • Update supervisor on stock levels and other issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Preferred: 1 year experience in healthcare dietary setting
  • Knowledge of food preparation and service
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of professional dietary standards
  • Willingness to participate in professional development
  • Respectful, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Customer service skills to provide high-quality patient care
  • Interest in creating a positive environment
