Dietary aide PM Shift - Full time (Food Services)

General Purpose

The dietary aide assignments are determined based on the needs of the shift activity. He/she reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor.

Essential Duties
  1. Learn food service routines quickly.
  2. Set up meal trays.
  3. Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
  4. Assist with serving meals.
  5. Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of the shift.
  6. Monitor water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
  7. Operate the dishwasher.
  8. Prepare nourishments and snacks.
  9. Sweep and mop the kitchen.
  10. Handle trash and garbage.
  11. Store groceries safely and neatly.
  12. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment and assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
  13. Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
  14. Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
  15. Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
  16. Work cooperatively with personnel across departments.
Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read technical procedures, follow recipes, and communicate effectively with managers and staff.

Mathematical Skills

Apply concepts like fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Solve practical problems and interpret instructions in various formats.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.

Physical Demands

Requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Good visual perception is necessary.
