Position Summary:
The Dietary Aide, in alignment with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Providence Care, provides safe and appealing meal service to Residents and guests at catering functions. Responsibilities include performing cleaning and dishwashing duties, ensuring proper storage, dating, and rotation of all food products in accordance with departmental standards, guidelines, and relevant regulations such as the Ministry of Health LTC regulations, The Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Public Health Act.
Education & Experience:
- Successful completion or enrollment in a Food Service Worker training program offered by an established college as listed in the Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology Act, 2002, or a registered private career college in Ontario, or meeting the qualifications as identified in the Regulations of the Long Term Care Act (preferred).
- Previous LTC experience is an asset.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Successful completion of the Food Handler’s Course every 5 years.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal service for residents, staff, and guests as assigned.
- Check the temperature and condition of all food items.
- Partition food items into appropriate portion sizes.
- Transport food carts and catering wagons to designated areas.
- Set up and clear dining room tables as assigned.
- Perform daily cleaning duties.
- Prepare between-meal nourishments and unit kitchen floor supplies as assigned.
- Ensure proper delivery, storage, dating, and rotation of all items.
- Maintain a clean work station, equipment, and storage areas.
