Job description

Hawthorne Inn Lakeland, Assisted Living and Memory Care, is situated in the heart of the beautiful Lakeland, Florida. We are located at 6150 Lakeland Highlands Rd, Lakeland, FL 33813.

We are currently hiring for a Dietary Aide.

Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting residents in fulfilling specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. They will also assist the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and facility policies to provide quality food service and nutritional care.

Major Duties and Critical Tasks:
  1. Prepare and cook food dishes, deliver food to residents, and assist kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace.
  2. Review department policies, procedures, manuals, and position descriptions at least annually; participate in recommending updates to stay current with facility protocols.
  3. Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, residents, visitors, and family members as necessary.
  4. Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures.
  5. Serve meals while ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
  6. Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
  7. Set up and clean dining areas and assist with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning.
  8. Assist with educational programs on nutrition.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred. Additional training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy is a plus. A combination of experience and training that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for the role is acceptable.

Must have reliable transportation.
