Position Overview

Located along scenic waterfront property in Brooklyn, NY, our Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing Care has earned a reputation for providing quality and compassionate care through programs and services that support individuals needing short-stay or long-term inpatient care.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the delivery of nutritional services to residents.
2. Check the bulletin board at each shift for daily menu, work assignments, schedules, and activities.
3. Check and stock nourishment stations on assigned floors.
4. Obtain prepared nourishment labels from the dietary office and prepare sandwiches, etc., for residents as specified.
5. Deliver nourishments to respective floors at scheduled times.
6. Secure and obtain dishes, cups, bowls, silverware, trays, and tray trucks from the kitchen.
7. Assemble food items on trays as specified on the diet card and place the diet card on the tray.
8. Dishes out and portions hot and cold food onto residents' trays.
9. Assist in the delivery of completed trays to residents.
10. Assist in tray preparation, including buttering bread, pouring sugar, cutting meat, etc.
11. Collect trays, disassemble, scrape food into garbage cans, and return tray trucks, cups, bowls, and silverware to the dishroom.
12. Assist in the preparation and service of nourishments during activities for residents and visitors.
13. Wrap silverware and prepare desserts and special resident plates.
14. Serve lunch and dinner in the staff dining room as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma required. Ability to follow simple verbal and written instructions. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
