Job summary

Manchester Health Care Center in Manchester, CT seeks a Part Time Dietary Aide to support resident meals and dietary care. You will rotate through day and evening shifts, assist with meal preparation, serving, nourishments, and meal setup according to diet cards to meet each resident’s needs.

Candidates should read and follow written instructions, have basic English proficiency, and be comfortable with standard office tasks (Microsoft Office). Weekend and holiday availability is required.

• Fluent knowledge of word processing (including Microsoft Office) and other office equipment.

Responsibilities

Manchester Health Care Center is seeking a Part Time Dietary Aide

1. Understands and complies with posted work schedules.

2. Prepares, portions and serves appropriate and adequate amounts of food items, beverages and desserts for meal service according to menu and prescribed therapeutic diets in a timely, safe and sanitary manner.

3. Assists with preparation and production of vending par levels (entrees, snacks, beverages, and desserts).

4. Prepares and delivers nourishments at appropriate times according to procedure in a safe and sanitary manner.

5. Assists with meal set up at mealtime according to the diet card, considering therapeutic diets, food preferences and consistencies to meet each resident's individual dietary needs.

6. Properly stores all food items and supplies according to procedure including the storage of chemicals.

Experience:

Interested in the Dietary needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with the elderly.

Ability to read, write and comprehend English; ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Fluent knowledge of word processing (including Microsoft Office) and other office equipment.

Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position assignment.
