Job description

Job Summary

Preparation of all cold and limited hot food in production areas, plus service to tray and cafeteria areas. Work in dish room area and receive all product items delivered to the department. Work in all areas of catering as needed. Pass trays to patients and help set up food trays for them.

Job Duties

1. Prepares all salads and desserts according to recipes indicated or convenience directions on the package label and produces quantities indicated on production sheets.
2. Follows department guidelines for portioning all food items and merchandising all food served on patient tray line, cafeteria, and catering area.
3. Maintains a neat and orderly tray line and cafeteria area according to department guidelines.
4. Records temperatures required by each job being performed.
5. Replenishes nourishment stations and records all items properly.
6. Follows department standards for sanitation in dish room, kitchen area, cafeteria, and catering.
7. Receives food and supplies according to department policy.
8. Maintains proper par levels at each work station.
9. Records all charges, over rings, or problems concerning cafeteria operations correctly and reports issues to the supervisor.
