Job Summary
The Dietary Aide assists in the kitchen area prior to, during, and after meals are served. They help maintain kitchen work areas, keeping equipment, utensils, and food plates clean and orderly.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Comply with the Facility's personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures.
- Report any allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Follow all dietary procedures in accordance with established policies.
- Assist in serving meals, pouring beverages, and preparing between-meal nourishment snacks.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, including cleaning work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators, and food storage areas.
- Sweep and mop floors as directed.
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures, ensuring utensils and equipment are ready for the next meal.
- Keep work areas clean, dry, and free of hazards, including garbage disposal.
- Assist the cook in meal preparation when needed.
- Follow safety regulations and infection control policies at all times.
- Ensure the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner, reporting hazards immediately.
- Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor promptly.
- Dispose of food and waste according to policies.
- Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious waste or blood/body fluids.
- Report missing or illegible labels and safety data sheets.
Job Requirements
- Basic computer skills required.
- If operating a vehicle, must meet the company's motor vehicle policy requirements.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Availability to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to assist in resident evacuation during emergencies.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Use transfer/gait belts or assistance when lifting or carrying objects over 25 pounds.
