Dietary Aide - Loma Linda Assisted Living (Food Services)

General Purpose

The dietary aide's assignments are determined based on the activity of the shift and needs. The position reports to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor.

Essential Duties

1. Learn food service routines quickly.
2. Set up meal trays.
3. Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
4. Assist with serving meals.
5. Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of each shift.
6. Monitor water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
7. Operate the dishwasher.
8. Prepare nourishments and snacks.
9. Sweep and mop the kitchen.
10. Manage trash and garbage.
11. Store groceries safely, orderly, and cleanly.
12. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
13. Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
14. Maintain floors through sweeping and mopping.
15. Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
16. Work cooperatively with personnel across departments.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read technical procedures, follow recipes, and effectively communicate with managers and employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.
