Job summary

SELMER in dietary services is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with daily kitchen tasks in Selmer, TN. Duties include learning food service routines, serving meals, dishwashing, and sanitation to maintain a clean, safe kitchen.

The role requires following recipes, measuring temperatures, handling nourishments, and supporting the Cook and Dietary Supervisor as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent and food handlers' certificate are required; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to learn food service routines quickly.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine.
• Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
