Position: Dishwasher

Immediate Supervisor: Food Service Director

Summary of Position:

Responsible for organizing and sanitization in the dish room; must use proper dishwashing and warewashing procedures throughout the day. The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the carts, and making sure the dish room is cleaned and sanitized, and polished at the end of the shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Must follow proper dishwashing and warewashing procedures. Proper chemicals must be used when following these procedures, The dish room must remain clean and organized throughout the day.

2. All dishes and silverware must be scraped, soaked and washed as soon as they are brought into the dish room.

3. When washing dishes, check dishes for chips, cups, and glasses, and silverware for bends. Always keep silverware properly stored with handles up. Follow chart above the dishwasher for properly soaking and washing all silverware.

4. Break down the dish machine and clean it after every meal. The machine must be drained and the inside hosed down thoroughly after each meal.

5. Always keep the bus buckets and dish racks clean, stacked and off the floor.

6. At the end of your shift, all shelves and counters in the dish room should be left clean, sanitized, and polished. The floor must be swept and mopped, including the walls and underneath the dish machine. Trash must be emptied, trash can be scrubbed, air dryed, and liner must be preplaced.

7. You must complete Daily Cleaning Assignments before the end of your shift. Initial each assignment as you complete it.

8. Complete any work as requested by the supervisor.

9. Check with your supervisor prior to punching out.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma preferred,

2. Strong attention to detail.

3. Must be clean and have good personal hygiene.
