Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to read and follow recipes/procedures.
• Basic math for fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Willingness to work as part of a dietary team.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Operate dishwasher and maintain sanitation of kitchen areas.
• Clean work surfaces, refrigerators and floors.
• Sweep, mop, and keep kitchen clean and orderly.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher and record as needed.
• Learn food service routines under supervision of cook or dietary supervisor.
