Job description

We are looking for an energetic Dietary Aide to join our growing team!

The right candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service to our residents.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
  2. Serves meals in the health center pantries
  3. Sets up and breaks down tables in the health center dining rooms
  4. Transports hot and cold foods and non-food items to and from the health center pantries
  5. Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines as per regulation
  6. Provides snacks and supplements per diet orders
  7. Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines
  8. Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order
  9. Takes orders and provides service courteously
  10. Clears dishes during and after meal service
  11. Answers questions about menu items
  12. Ensures orders match Physician’s diet orders
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
  • Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
  • Ability to plan, organize, and set up trays and plates according to diet orders and standards
  • Ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Empathy for the elderly is required.
