Forefront Healthcare is hiring a Full-time Dietary Aide. You will be on a team of people that will support you! This is a great time to join our company; we are growing quickly! This position is for our location in Hyattsville, MD.

Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs. Assists the cook in the preparation and service of meals, meeting scheduled meal times following established policies and procedures within the dietary department to ensure residents receive the highest quality of service.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
  2. Responsible for delivering residents’ meal carts, setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
  3. Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; cleaning and stocking as needed.
  4. Washing and storing dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
  5. Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community’s rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. 1 year food service preferred.
  2. Fluent in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  3. Ability to communicate clearly to all levels within the community.
  4. Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their special needs.
  5. Must be able to follow directions and follow through on assignments.
  6. Ability to work with others as part of a team.
  7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  8. ServSafe certification is desirable.

Education Requirement

High school diploma or GED degree.

Competencies

  2. Willingness to learn.
  3. Excellent customer service skills.
  4. Team player.

Physical Demands

  1. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Additional Information

Schedule: Shifts vary, but the main shift is 11 AM to 7:30 PM, every other weekend required.

Hourly Wage: $15.00 - $16.00 an hour.

Location: Sacred Heart Home.
