Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

Assists the cook in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring scheduled meal times are met and following established policies and procedures within the dietary department to ensure residents receive high-quality service.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Assist the cook/supervisor with food preparation and service, following specific procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
  2. Deliver residents’ meal carts, set up and clean dining areas.
  3. Accurately record temperatures of refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
  4. Wash and store dishes, maintaining sanitation and kitchen cleanliness.
  5. Be knowledgeable of Federal, State, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • 1 year of food service experience preferred but not required.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels within the community.
  • Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their specific needs.
  • Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • ServSafe certification is desirable but not required.
Education Requirement
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Team-oriented attitude.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
