Job summary

The Virginia Department of Veterans Services is seeking a Wage Dietary Aide for the Davis & McDaniel Vet Care Center. This position involves assembling resident trays, delivering meals, and assisting with nourishment preparation and cleanup.

Applicants should have knowledge of tray line operations and various diets, be able to read at a 10th grade level, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs daily. Special screening and background checks may be required in accordance with state policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tray line operations and various diets would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble resident trays and deliver meal carts to units.
• Assist with preparation, delivery and cleanup of between-meal nourishment.
• Operate dish machine and help with receiving and storage of food supplies.
• Follow safety, sanitation guidelines and shift supervisor instructions.
• Read at a 10th grade level and push/pull 50 lbs daily.
