Job summary

The County of Berks is seeking a Dietary Assistant to support food preparation and service in the dietary department at Leesport. You will assist cooks, set up tray lines, serve residents, wash dishes, and help maintain clean, safe food service areas in compliance with infection control guidelines.

Requirements include being at least 18, basic nutrition knowledge, ability to read and follow directions, and a willingness to work on-site with physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with some knowledge of basic nutrition and dietary operations.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language fluently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving food and cleanup of the dietary department.
• Assist on tray line and in unit dining rooms.
• Wash dishes and operate dish machine.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to supervisor.
• Maintain infection control and sanitation standards.
