Job summary

Lee Health & Rehab Center in Pennington Gap, VA is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to assist with preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean, safe environment, and ensuring service ware is sanitized after each meal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with food preparation preferred.
• Able to understand and follow directions.
• Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with portioning of cold food items and beverages.
• Prepares and labels between-meal snacks and delivers nourishment kitchen stock.
• Assists with meal set up and delivery.
• Washes and sanitizes all service ware using infection control procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follows assigned cleaning schedule.
• Complies with established food handling regulations including dietary policies and procedures, local health department instructions, and federal standards.
• Works cooperatively with dietary staff and other Center personnel.
• Reports safety and equipment issues to the Director, Maintenance Director, or Administrator.
• Fulfills in-service training requirements in a timely manner using Silver Chair program.
• Attends in-service, department, or Center meetings as directed.
• Treats residents, staff, and visitors with respect.
• Reports illness and symptoms to Director of Dietary Services promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
