Dietary Aide - Food & Nutrition - Trenton - Part time - Varied Shifts

Position Overview:

Capital Health is a leading health system recognized for nursing excellence and advanced technology, comprising two hospitals and a medical group with over 250 providers. We are seeking a Dietary Aide to join our team on a part-time basis with varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare items for assembly lines using menus and production sheets, and coordinate delivery to work areas.
  2. Gather and prepare food items for patient tray lines, including special requests, ensuring accuracy according to menus and production sheets.
  3. Place beverages and special orders on trays accurately.
  4. Assist in setting up Meals on Wheels tray lines and provide additional support as needed.
  5. Understand and apply portion control guidelines, compare yields with production sheets, and ensure correct items are served.
  6. Properly store remaining food items, covering, dating, and labeling accordingly.
  7. Clean tray lines, steam tables, food warmers, refrigerators, and floors following approved procedures.
  8. Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling and cleaning, including temperature logging.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior food service experience is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and effective communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Frequent physical activities include walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, twisting, bending, reaching, fine motor activities, and taste/smell.
  • Occasional activities include sitting, climbing, overhead reaching, squatting/kneeling/crawling, and keyboard use.
  • Continuous activities involve standing, talking, and hearing.
  • Lifting requirements: 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 35 lbs. at waist level and above.
  • Sensory requirements: near and far vision, color discrimination, depth perception, hearing.
  • Exposure risks include bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, airborne diseases, extreme temperatures, uneven surfaces, noise, and dust.
Additional Information:

Offers are contingent upon successful onboarding and pre-employment physical. A mandatory annual flu vaccine is required unless exempted for medical or religious reasons.
