Job summary

COUNTRY OAKS CARE CENTER in Pomona, CA is seeking a Dietary Aide for flexible full-time and part-time shifts with weekend availability. Pay starts at $16+/hr, DOE, and prior Skilled Nursing Facility experience is preferred. The role includes tray setup, food handling, and helping ensure diet orders and portions meet resident needs.

You will label and date foods, maintain safe temperatures, and help keep the kitchen and storage areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 months related experience or training.
• Requires knowledge of special diets.

Responsibilities

• Follows department procedures and storage of all dishes, utensils and cooking equipment.
• Ensures all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled and dated.
• Oversees proper food handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination, increase quality and reduce cost.
• Suggests menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and other supplies.
• Cleans all food service equipment, kitchen and food storage areas.
• Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Records food temperatures according to established policy.
• Assists with the setup of the tray line. Assembles trays according to the planned menu and tray tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, and diet order and within the established time schedules.
• Assists in checking trays during service for accuracy.
