Job summary

Evergreen Senior Living in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is seeking a part-time Dishwasher/Dietary Aide to support daily food service operations. The twin-role involves washing dishes and assisting with meal service, with flexibility to switch between duties as needed to ensure timely meals for residents.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, assisting kitchen staff, and serving meals to residents in dining areas or rooms while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or kitchen environment preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with food handling procedures and cleaning protocols (training provided).
• Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and respectfully with residents/patients, families, volunteers, and other center staff
• Punctuality and consistent attendance

• Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms as needed.

Position Summary:

Thisdual-roleposition supports daily food service operations by performing bothDishwasherand Dietary Aide duties as scheduled and as operational needs require. This role is expected toregularly workin both capacities to ensure consistent meal service andappropriate staffingcoverage.This position requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality food service whilemaintainingcompliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Dishwasher Duties:

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using proper procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing and kitchen areas.
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and report any issues or malfunctions.
• Assistwith cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas.
• Ensure adequate supply of clean dishes and utensils for meal service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.
• Dispose of waste properly andmaintaintrash and recycling areas.
• Support kitchen staff as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
• Report any maintenance or cleanliness concerns to the kitchen supervisor.

Dietary Duties:

• Set up and serve meals in dining areas or patient rooms as needed
• Assistwith dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen tools and equipment
• Help plate and portion food according to resident or patient dietary needs
• Monitor food stock and report shortages or issues to the kitchen supervisor
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents, patients, and staff
• Assistwith meal preparation, ensuringfood is prepared and served at proper temperatures and inappropriate portions
• Follow established safety and infection control regulations and policies
• Report disrepair of kitchen and dietary appliances, equipment, etc.
• Observe,noteand report changes in resident eating habits, especially those on aspecializeddiet

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs and menu updates.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Previousexperience in food service, hospitality, orkitchenenvironment preferred but notrequired.

Physical Requirements:

• Capable ofliftingto 30lbs, and occasionally up to 50lbswithassistance.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching.
• Manual dexterity tooperatecleaning tools and kitchen equipment.

Pay:

$14.50 - $15.50 per hour
