Job summary

Elder Care of Bemidji Inc is seeking a compassionate kitchen helper to assist in food preparation and service, and to perform cleaning tasks in dining rooms and kitchen areas in a sanitary, orderly condition.

The role requires flexibility with a 6:30 am to 3 pm shift, every other weekend and holiday rotation per union contract, and starting wages of $20-$23 per hour based on experience. Previous geriatric setting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Able to follow written and oral instructions and learn dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation and serving tasks, assembling and portioning foods as assigned.
• May set up and clear dining room tables.
• May transport food/dish carts to and from the campus main kitchen.
• Performs a variety of cleaning tasks including washing dishes, kettles and pans; sweeping and washing floors; cleaning of ranges and other food preparation equipment and areas.
• Reports problems with equipment, supplies, and chemicals used for cleaning to the Dietary Manager.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment and follow safety guidelines.
