Now Hiring Full-time and Part-time Dietary Aides.

Job Summary:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting residents in fulfilling specific dietary requirements to promote their health and wellbeing. They will also assist the Dietary Manager in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Services Department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, established facility policies and procedures, to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care are provided.

Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

1. Prepare and cook food dishes, deliver food to residents, and assist kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, sanitary workplace.
2. Review department policies, procedures, manuals, and position descriptions at least annually, and participate in making recommended changes to stay current on facility protocols.
3. Interpret policies and procedures to personnel, patients/residents, visitors, and family members as necessary.
4. Prepare meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures.
5. Serve meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times.
6. Take inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
7. Set up and take down dining areas and assist with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning.
8. Assist with educational programs on nutrition.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must possess at minimum, a high school diploma.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Dietary Aide is preferred. Bonus experience includes training in cost control, food management, or diet therapy. Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities of a Dietary Aide in a skilled nursing facility.
