Job summary

Heritage Wellness & Rehabilitation is accepting applications for a Dietary Aide responsible for supporting meal preparation for patients and staff within a nursing center and at special events.

Duty includes assisting cooks, preparing nourishments, desserts, salads and beverages, and following production guidelines while upholding sanitation and safety in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• The dietary aide candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
