Job summary

Madison County is seeking a Dietary Aide/Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in a compassionate, regulated environment. You will follow menus, ensure safe temperatures, and collaborate with the Dietitian to meet daily nutritional needs while supporting quality of life.

You will supervise kitchen staff, manage supplies, and maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the shift. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of food handling, preparation and storage techniques.
• Ability to follow menus and substitution lists accurately.
• Ability to communicate with staff and residents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares foods that correspond to menu cycles.
• Cooks or prepares meals in institutional quantities at proper temperatures and times.
• Supervises kitchen staff and assists with food preparation and cleanup.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.
• Inspects trays and reports resident feedback to the supervisor.
• Uses equipment per manufacturer instructions and follows cleaning schedules.
• Inspects for safety hazards and reports problems promptly.
• Communicates with the Dietary Supervisor to meet resident needs.
