Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE:
- Cleans and sanitizes eating and serving utensils.
- Cleans and sanitizes patient food carts, pushcarts, and the dish room, including the inside and outside of the dishwasher.
- Replenishes all condiments and dairy products in the patient tray line area and the cafeteria.
- Completes sanitation assignments throughout the department and assists the Lead Cook in maintaining sanitation standards.
- Assists with delivery of patient food carts and trays.
- Performs duties of the patient tray line porter and delivers patient food carts as needed.
- Handles trash removal duties, including cleaning and sanitizing trash receptors.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Two years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment related to meal preparation and dishwashing.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitation procedures.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and confidentiality.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Comfortable physical surroundings with limited hazards.
- Ability to move arms freely for cleaning tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, bend, kneel, or stand for extended periods.
