Job description

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

• Cleans and sanitizes eating and serving utensils.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient food carts, pushcarts, and the dish room, including the inside and outside of the dishwasher.
• Replenishes all condiments and dairy products in the patient tray line area and the cafeteria.
• Completes sanitation assignments throughout the department and assists the Lead Cook in maintaining sanitation standards.
• Assists with delivery of patient food carts and trays.
• Performs duties of the patient tray line porter and delivers patient food carts as needed.
• Handles trash removal duties, including cleaning and sanitizing trash receptors.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Two years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment related to meal preparation and dishwashing.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and sanitation procedures.
• Clear verbal communication skills.
• Organizational skills and confidentiality.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• Comfortable physical surroundings with limited hazards.
• Ability to move arms freely for cleaning tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit, bend, kneel, or stand for extended periods.
