Position Summary
  • Responsible for preparing and serving patient, staff, and visitor meals and snacks according to dietary guidelines. Assists cooks as needed and operates necessary equipment for service.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work areas, dishes, utensils, and pots and pans following dietary procedures.
  • Stocks and retrieves items from coolers, storerooms, and freezers following proper procedures.
Qualifications

Education / Training: High school diploma / GED or ten years of experience.

Experience: Six months of dietary, retail, or commercial food service experience preferred.

Licensure / Certification: None required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to inventory items and fulfill orders to par levels.
  • Ability to work independently and perform tasks accurately.
  • Capability to operate foodservice equipment such as beverage dispensers, steam tables, and popcorn machines.
  • Follow diagrams and lists to assemble patient trays to specifications.
  • Interact pleasantly with customers and handle complaints effectively.
