Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a DIETARY/AIDE! Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!

Mountain Youth Academy is located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. It is a 120-bed residential treatment facility that assists in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of behavioral health issues for young adolescents.

Position Summary

Prepares and cooks meals for patients and employees of the facility. The employee is HWC and CPR certified and may assist in supervising patients.

Job Requirements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper food preparation, including receiving, storing, handling, and following recipes.
  • Prepares and serves food according to the menu, the number of people to be served, and portion control.
  • Ensures compliance with modified diets as instructed.
  • Maintains proper use and storage of equipment and keeps the environment clean, including utensils, appliances, floors, and equipment.

Qualifications

Requires:

  • Providing positive, professional role modeling with appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Supervising patients in the dietary department.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals, securing the food service area, and understanding Material Safety Data Sheets.
