The role requires a high school diploma, a positive attitude, and the ability to work with the elderly. You will assist with meals, monitor temperatures, maintain cleanliness, and participate in quality improvement to ensure dignified dining for residents.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to standardized recipes and therapeutic diet orders.
  • Follow established menus, diet manuals, and dietary policies and procedures.
  • Ensure only approved food substitutions are made.
  • Monitor, record, and document food and equipment temperatures as required.
  • Maintain proper dietary utensils and ensure accurate tray set-up for residents.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation duties in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Support inventory needs and communicate supply or equipment concerns to the Food Services Director.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to support resident care and dining services.
  • Attend training sessions and remain current on dietary service standards.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and treat all residents with dignity and respect.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
  • Work safely with dietary equipment and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Remain flexible with scheduling and job duties based on departmental needs.
  • Represent the dietary department with professionalism, respect, and integrity.
