Job summary

Bedrock Healthcare's Watertown Health Care Center is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support our residents with nutritious meals and snacks. You will follow sanitation policies and assist in food preparation while delivering meals to residents and ensuring a clean service area.

This role requires the ability to read and follow diet lists, maintain personal hygiene, and work with a caring team to provide high-quality dining experiences in a warm, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and techniques for handling and serving food.

Summary The Dietary Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities, and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Handles food and equipment according to corporate, local, state and federal sanitation policies and procedures.
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas as instructed by supervisor.
• Prepares and delivers snacks.
• Performs daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to supervisor.
• Ensures that customer and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Duties

• Interact with residents, families, visitors, facility and corporate staff.
• Must possess working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Must possess working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Must have the ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands‑on intervention/participation may be required.
• May be required to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, additional hours, and in different positions as the facility’s needs require.
• Must practice good personal hygiene and follow the dress code requirements.
• Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test as required.
