Job summary

Belle Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service and resident comfort in a compassionate, team-oriented setting. The role involves delivering meals, assisting with snacks, and upholding sanitation standards throughout food service areas.

The position offers 11am-7:30pm or 3:30pm-7:30pm shifts, same-day pay, and benefits including health/dental/vision, 401K, holiday pay, PTO, and a weekly appreciation event.

Responsibilities

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room.
• Serve – in dining rooms; prepare and deliver snacks as directed.
• Maintains daily or scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with policies.
• Follows safety regulations in operating all equipment and services.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Food Service Aide performs a variety of food service functions in maintaining clean and sanitary conditions of food service areas, facilities and equipment. He/she may also assist in some aspects of food preparation.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITLES:

• Reports at assigned time, in uniform, ready for duty;
• Handles food and equipment according to sanitation policies and procedures;
• Is aware of safety regulations and responsibilities in operating all equipment;
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc. to designated areas, including resident rooms and dining room, as instructed by supervisor;
• Serve – in dining rooms;
• Prepare and deliver snacks as directed;
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures;
• Reports any discrepancies in his/her area to department supervisor;
• Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
• Performs related work as assigned.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/ VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read, write, and understand directions in English language. Previous Food Service Aide experience is helpful.

JOB SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of the methods and techniques of handling and serving food.
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified and serve food in an appetizing manner.
• Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral directions in the English language.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
• Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
