Job summary

The Gardens at Cedar Community is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to support meals and dining operations for residents. The role focuses on creating a welcoming dining experience while following health and safety guidelines.

You will assist during meals, maintain dining areas, and help with cleaning and setup. Training is provided, and flexible shifts including weekends may be required to support our residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent customer service with a courteous and helpful demeanor.
• Ability to communicate compassionately with older adults.
• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Flexible shifts, including weekends/holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the day.

This role provides hands-on support during mealtimes while assisting with dining room setup, cleanup, and maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary environment. What You'll Do

• Assist residents during meals, providing support with dining as needed
• Serve beverages, food items, and condiments courteously and promptly
• Set up and maintain dining areas, including tables, linens, silverware, dishes, and supplies
• Clean and sanitize dining spaces, tables, chairs, equipment, and service areas
• Scrape, load, and wash dishes as needed; remove and dispose of trash and recyclables properly
• Follow all dietary, food handling, sanitation, and safety guidelines
• Support special events, celebrations, and holiday meals
• Observe residents and report any concerns or changes to the culinary or care team
• Uphold all facility policies, infection control procedures, and resident rights

What You'll Need
