Job summary

The Bristol at Tampa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center seeks a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation, plating, and service for residents. You will label nourishments, portion foods as directed, and help maintain clean, sanitary kitchen and dining areas.

Daily tasks include supporting cooks, serving trays to patients, and ensuring accurate tray tickets and beverage service while communicating with residents during meals.

Dietary Aide

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients in the nursing center
• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
• Sweeps and mops kitchen floors as assigned
• Washes dishes and silverware according to dishwashing procedure
• Puts clean dishes and silverware away
• Maintains clean, neat, and orderly work areas
• Does cleaning assignments
• Takes trash to dumpster if assigned
• Works on meal tray serving line
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals
• Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room
• Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas
• Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas
• Working knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
• Ability to follow diet lists, portion food as specified, and serve food in an appetizing manner.
