Qualifications

• Sanitation practices in food service are essential.
• Experience in cooking or food preparation is preferred but not required.
• Strong teamwork in a dietary department.
• Excellent resident-focused service.
• Able to work variable shifts and weekends.
• Healthcare settings experience is a plus.
• Must maintain safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and presentation of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Sanitate work areas, utensils, and equipment to maintain a clean and safe food service environment.
• Buss tables and assist with serving meals to residents, ensuring that each individual receives their correct meal.
• Support cooks in food production tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables, assembling plates, and portioning food.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to the supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during mealtimes.
• Follow all safety and health regulations related to food handling and sanitation practices.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appetizing meals while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the Dietary department. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and customer service, and who thrive in a collaborative environment.
